We Had A Dream.....

As far back as I can remember, I have been finding homes for displaced animals.

Once you start doing that, it is very difficult to stop. There is always another animal out there that has a sad story to share. This is where the birth of Furry Friends Network begins…

A little over five years ago, my husband and I were driving up a country road to visit some relatives. I saw a cat running up the road and he said, “If you catch it, you can have it.” Well, needless to say I did not catch that cat, but one of the children from the nearby house indicated they had thirteen kittens and if I wanted one, I was certainly welcome. Never having had a cat, I hadn’t a clue on how to care for them, but I did have a new sister-in-law, Shawna, who was quite the cat lover. So, I enlisted her help, and from there, I guess you could say the rest is history.

Furry Friends Network was founded in February 2001. As of December 31, 2005, we have successfully placed 1093 dogs and 484 cats. There have been many ups and many downs, but Furry Friends Network has saved many lives. Sadly, our eyes have been opened to the daily tragedies that happen to countless animals each day.

Furry Friends Network could never be a reality without the help of so many dedicated volunteers who each day give up something very precious to each and every one of us - time. Our volunteers spend great amounts of time sending emails to find help for animals in need or coordinate the adoption of the animals in our program. They spend time caring for foster animals, driving to pick up animals from various shelters, delivering animals to their new homes, doing home visits, trapping feral cats and transporting to spay/neuter clinics, etc. Without their tireless efforts, Furry Friends Network would not have made an impact on so many lives. So, please hug your adopted dog or cat and give thanks not only for their lives, but also for the lives of the volunteers who were instrumental in saving them! God has truly blessed Furry Friends Network with so many dedicated volunteers.

We look forward to continuing our mission of saving lives, one animal at a time, and ask each of you to consider volunteering or donating. Furry Friends Network relies solely on foster homes to help the dogs and cats and on donations to fund its operations. Recently, we have had many animals that have needed extensive medical care…Please consider helping these dogs and donating to our HOPE FUND.

God has charged all of us with these precious lives, and no matter where they are born all animals deserve to live! We are their voices and Furry Friends Network is thankful for the opportunity to help them. Please spay and neuter anything you find that walks on four legs, and treat all beings with respect and kindness. Remember, speak to your animals often. Your voice is the sweetest sound they have ever heard! One day, we will all gather over the Rainbow Bridge and rejoice in the love we have shared! Thank you, again for helping us on our life-saving mission. One day, I hope the services of Furry Friends Network are no longer needed. Unfortunately, until there are no more homeless pets, we will continue our journey and save lives, one animal at a time.
