A little about Audrey (5 years old) and her kitty, Phoebe....

Before we decided to adopt Phoebe, we were a little concerned that Audrey wasn't old enough to appreciate the responsibility that comes with taking care of a pet.  It turns out that we were very wrong about that.

It seems that Phoebe has now adopted Audrey.  They are the best of friends.

When Audrey comes home from pre-school, she walks in the house and says "Phoebe, come to mama".  Usually she doesn't need to even say that because Phoebe already knows that 'Mama' is home.

Audrey has learned to feed her, give her water and milk, and sometimes even helps with the litter box.  Sometimes.
