Hi Lynn,
Things are going fine.
Brock is a very sweet & adorable addition to our
home.
My son just loves him.
He says when I am not at home, Brock jumps up on the
couch and looks out the window every time he hears a
car to see if I am coming home. We definitely
bonded!
I sent Sally a note with
a picture a couple of weeks ago. I attached it from
the email I sent her as I do not have it saved here
at work. Hope you can open it. I do have more
pictures at home I could send if it doesn't open.
I took Brock to a vet in
Camp Hill to establish a 'new patient account'! I
was surprised to find out he had whipworms. I put
powder on his food for three days & hopefully it
took care of it. He also had a yeast infection
in both ears. Dr. Davis gave me some drops to put
in his ears twice a day & they have definitely
improved.
I am still giving him
allergy shots, however he does not like them, so
that has gotten a little difficult. He is such a
wiggle worm, I had to try twice the last time.
Since he only gets them a few weeks apart now, I'm
sure it will go better. In the meantime, he is
still exceptionally itchy & I am giving him pills to
help him tolerate that until the shots start to
work.
My daughter was here
with her Lab over Thanksgiving, and I will be dog
sitting again over the Christmas holiday. Gilbert
and Brock get along great & I think he likes the
"doggie company". We all went to the dog park in
Lower Allen. At first Brock was a little possessive
& hung around me, barking at the big dogs. It
really surprised me, but I don't think he has had
much experience at playing. I moved him to the
small dog area and it went much better.
Brock & I are signed up
for Training starting in January at PetSmart just to
work on a few little things. But basically he is
very well behaved. He joined two neighbor dogs in
their yard yesterday and was running around with the
little dachshund being very gentle.
He has settled in and
adapted to our routine & looks forward to his 2
round-the-block walks every day. When my son is home
he puts him out in the yard in the afternoon for
10-20 minutes.
Overall he is a
sweetheart. Thank You to Furry Friends and all the
wonderful people that are out there doing such a
good job taking care of these helpless dogs.
Have a nice Holiday.
